Miss Jessie, Dark and Lovely & Carol's Daughter on 4C Hair

Let me start by saying I have wanted to try this product since I saw it on Tyra Banks Show back in 2006-2007/2008. Due to the fact it cost to got damn much at the time, I didn't bother. Now at Target for 12.99 I finally purchased Carol's Daughter. I don't know why I feel like there is this magic cream that is just going to curl my hair like I want it. Its not going to happen 4C ladies.

The Hair Milk & The Pudding. The pudding is made for twist outs, babu knots. I say if you have a TWA and 4C hair this product is not for you. It skrinks the hell out of your hair. It gives you no curl definition. And it leaves your hair feeling stringy like there's nothing on your hair. The Hair milk I have used with water in a bottle to detangle my hair and it smells good and leaves it softish. But if you want to have a cute fro your fro will be tiny. The Pudding is thick but light, it moves when you shake the jar. It smells clean like soap, everyone raved about the smell it just smells clean. The Hair Milk is exactly that milky, very white, and it feels oily but it doesn't leave residue on your fingers. I like it but I don't Honestly Carol's Daughter is not for 4C hair. Also if you have a TWA and need a trim you will get breakage. So I used it as a leave in conditoner, I combed out my hair with it. As I was in the shower it kept breaking off. I washed my hair to get the product out and reset my hair. I put in my Cantu and that curled my hair more than Carol's Daughter did. I'm hoping when my hair gets a little longer the product may work better for my hair. Right now in a TWA stage I see no use for the product.

Dark and Lovely is thick, it smells like mango and some other sweet stuff. It doesn't stay on your fingers like other products but I'm not feeling it for my hair. On my little twist I didn't see anything I wanted to keep, its too short for my liking, some women can rock it me, I'm not ready. The Miss Jessie's Soft Curls, I am waiting until my hair is at least neck length to get the rest of her expensive line. I do like how its no residue on my fingers and it doesn't harden on my hair. I did use it on my fro, just a little bit, it skrinks my hair also but the curls stayed in place, no flakes and no lingering smell.

Shea Moisture just dropped their Jamacian Black Castor Line. Shampoo, hair mask, leave in conditioner, edge therapy and hair lotion. I had to get the conditioner and the lotion. I'm still debating on the edge therapy, mask and lotion. It also has pepermint in it and you can smell it. The smell also stays on your scarf, I noticed that today. Its very light and watery but its a good mix and not that Jamacian Black Smell. I used that and the hair lotion a few times, it gives my fro love. Knowing me I will eventually buy the rest of the line. At least the Shampoo and Mask, and the edge therapy...hell that is the rest of the line. I got a problem. lol.

I hope in the future the Dark and Lovely and Carol's Daughter Hair Pudding will benefit my hair. The Hair Milk, I have a love hate with the smell but my hair is very soft right now. Like very soft. It also has an oily feel, you will notice. Miss Jessie I like it but it srinks the s__ outta my fro. Right now I use it to lay my edges and nape. One thing about 4c hair and products you can find use for the products you purchase. Some things I will use for later, some things I wish I can take to the store. Most of the things I find use for detangling, conditoning, or twisting for a later time. At least when the time comes for a twist out or someday a braid out I will have plenty of products to choose from.
